The SA8000 Standard is a management standard based on international workplace norms of International Labor Organization(ILO) Conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Elements of SA8000 requirements include:

  1. No child labor.​

  2. No forced labor.

  3. A safe and healthy work environment.

  4. Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining.

  5. No discrimination based on race, origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, union or political affiliation, or age; no sexual harassment.

  6. No corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse.

  7. Working Hours shall comply with the applicable law.

  8. Wages paid for a standard work week must meet the legal and industry standards.

  9. Well established Management Systems.
